Are the fittings on your Southsea Deckchairs and Tennis Chairs suitable for a marine environment?

The Southsea Deckchairs are primarily ordered by the traditional UK beach resorts such as Brighton or Southend or Blackpool. They are made to last outside, therefore, and are strong and robust.
The deckchair fittings are made from bright steel. You could argue that stainless steel 316 would be the optimum material as this is most likely to avoid rusting in a salty sea air. The bright steel fittings will rust after a couple of seasons by the beach, but saying that, this does not seem to affect the life span of the deckchair. Rusty or not, the fittings usually outlast both the fabric and the wood.
